Finding what you’re looking for

Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise.
Seek what they sought.
                                          Matsuo Basho

The highest reward for man’s toil is not what he gets for it,
but what he becomes by it.
                                          John Ruskin

If you’re looking for money, fame and acclaim, you’ll probably get it. If, however, the purpose of your working and striving is to become a better, stronger, wiser person, you’ll probably get that instead.

The former is fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying. The latter is eternal and brings glory to God, which is better by far.
